EC&I Design Services

Electrical Distribution Systems

Tenet Engineers have successfully delivered projects on HV & LV distribution networks involving from 33kV supplies from 400kV primary subs with 20km of HV cabling for major plants. To 3.3kV supplies for highly specialised equipment all the way to final termination of highly sensitive LV and ELV equipment requiring UPS equipment to prevent line disturbances and switching surges. They have also assisted clients in optioneering, feasibility and project definition studies utilising desktop studies and site surveys to identify the preferred technical solution to take forward for additional design and development.

E&I Building Services

Tenet Engineers have successfully delivered numerous building services projects from the development of a conceptual design, through to detail design for both new build and full building refurbishment projects. Including, but not limited to, Fire alarm systems and smoke detection, emergency lighting, power supplies and distribution, environmental monitoring, security systems including CCTV, normal lighting, perimeter lighting, access control and motion detection.

Programmable Electronic Systems (PES)

Tenet Engineers have provided turn-key solutions for our clients to improve safety on sites using PILZ Safety PLC systems to provide the require Safety Categories on Machinery.
The PLCs panels have been designed, programmed and commissioned on site by Tenet Engineers.
All work carried out is backed up using PILZ Pascal software to ensure conformity to IEC/EN 62061 ”Safety of machinery: Functional safety of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic control systems,” is the machinery specific implementation of IEC/EN 61508. The PLC programme used for setting up is PILZ Configurator.
Tenet Engineers are also trained in the used of non safety PLC programmes such as Mitsubishi MEDOC and Gx Developer PLC Programmer.

Process Control Systems

Our Capabilities include Distributed Control, Programmable Logic and Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Systems. Emergency Shutdown Systems, including hardwired relay, Control System Architecture design and Control philosophy development, PLC based and solid state Safety Instrumented Systems, Gap analysis of legacy SIS, against the requirement of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511. With in-depth knowledge of Yokogawa, Hima Sella
Emerson, Honeywell, Siemens and Allen Bradley equipment.

Fire Alarm Design and Integration

All Tenet Engineers carry a minimum C&G qualification for fire alarm design. Our Lead Engineers are independently certified, by BAFE, as fire alarm system ‘nominated designers’ to BS5839-1. Designs from studies phases through to detail design and support to the installation and commissioning contractors have included wireless fire alarm systems, aspirating systems, panel replacements, innovative solutions for areas that are difficult to access and considerations for fixings in hostile environments.

Systems Integration Design

Tenet engineers have created bespoke designs to client requirements utilising the services of an independent systems integrator during development of the control system architecture, for the supply of hardware and configuration of the system software, whether it be defined as DCS, PLC or SCADA, SIS or ESD.

Asset Care

Tenet have the expertise to support ageing plants in addressing obsolescence issues for equipment that has been superseded and no longer maintainable. Tenet Engineers identify suitably Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) or bespoke design solutions to meet specific client, safety and approved supplier requirements.

Normal and Emergency Lighting

Tenet engineers are qualified in the latest industry standards and specifically emergency lighting design for existing industrial buildings and new build. We can undertake assessments of a client’s existing systems with verification against plant records, site surveys and provide new design solutions. We also have established key contacts with suppliers thus ensuring latest technologies are utilised.

Safety System Design and substantiation

Years of experience across numerous plants enable Tenet engineer’s to fully support modifications to, and design new, Safety Systems. We ensure that Safety Related Equipment (SRE) and Safety Mechanisms (SMs) continue to meet the operational Safety Case of the plant. Carrying out reliability and failure impact analysis to ensure that the safety system meets the necessary Safety Integrity Level. All safety related work carried out to industry recognised and client specific standards.

Configuration Management

Ensuring that the configuration baseline for a plant is determined through desktop reviews, site surveys and close liaison with key plant stakeholders prior to commencement of design work. Tenet also provides a drawing update service for As – Built drawings for clients Lifetime Quality Records (LQRs).
